Hi George,

Thanks for the comment and for clarifying what Netflix will be offering. Clearly Netflix has some benefits, but there are a number of limitations that should be considered…

On another note, for those of us in the English-speaking Caribbean, we are perhaps a bit marginalised with respect to broadcast content for “Latin America (and the Caribbean)”. As you said, much of it is catering for the Spanish-speaking countries, which is the larger audience. Perhaps we can try to lobby Netflix for increased content for us Caribbean English-speakers?

Alot of the TV series and movies are missing from the service, and some of the content is in Spanish audio only.

Also the Netflix model is about providing content that is out of the primary distribution cycle. As a result the content is usually at least 4 – 6 months behind current release. So for users expecting current release movies and TV series, the Netflix service will not meet their needs.
