Hi VLScully,

I, personally, am not aware of any specific concerns per se, but recognising that the Internet has become a truly global platform, I have no doubt that some countries have been a bit uneasy by the influence they perceive the US to have in overseeing IANA.

Hence in the US deciding to relinquish its stewardship, and inviting the global community to become more involved in that area, I am sure that many countries, along with varied stakeholders from around the world, are heartened by this imminent change.

I have been checking out a few way in which persons (in Jamaica) and this is what i came up with. For those of us us who missed the .COM internet boom (in my case… i was a bit young) can take advantage of owning a GLOBAL DOMAIN NAME, i have invested in two already. The process is quite simple, visit http://www.website101.ws for more info…it is clearly explained in a short video on there and i used a 7 days free trial, that was a few weeks ago not sure if its still available.

Try it out and post your feedback so i may see.

Keep up the excellent work in this area.

A quick question comes to mind, as the functions are transferred from US Govt. Stewardship what are some of the likely concerns of other nations that will be likely addressed by this change?
