Interesting article Michelle. Did your research show how the spend on calls is distributed? Local calls, international calls, calls across the Caribbean; there may be a link to change in call rates and where the calls are terminated.

Hi Michelle, There is a second, rather popular cellular service provider in Belize called SMART. They’ve been around for almost 10 years now I believe. When they first came out they were a lot cheaper than Digicell. I’m not sure about now because I’ve been away. But they were the first to introduce text bundles, which made sms immensely more popular. Find them at smart-bz.com
