You’re welcome, Ras Albert!
]]>“I could not agree with Niel’s insights more as they are spot on”
I would also like to add that improvements in the region’s overall cyber security posture from the national perspective, appear to have much to do with the political will and understanding to view the cyber threat as the national security, economic development, public safety, child online protection and law enforcement challenge that it is. The indication of this is that in 2016 most Caribbean nations with a growing trail of regionally reported network breaches, website defacements, and ATM scams still do not have a national cyber security strategy or comprehensive set of cyber laws/legislations” as Niel mentioned… “Which is where the “sustainable” battle against cyber criminals and predators begins at a national level”
The reality is that based on the absence of national cyber security strategies couples with low levels of cyber security awareness, poor adherence to cyber security best practices and standards, and the absence of cyber incident reporting legal requirements … the Caribbean is in the midst of a perfect cyber storm which it appears to have yet to fully realize.
