I am in favour of restrictions being imposed (like the idea of leaving the phones outside of the meetings). I believe a happy medium can be found. With regard to the point on ‘etiquette and politeness is being lost’ for me anyone who engage someone on their cell-phone whilst in the middle of a conversation is rude and disrespectful to the other party (i.e. from the janitor to the CEO).
