SUMMARY:ECCB Digital Dialogues:  Pandemic and Digital Transformation – Part II
DESCRIPTION:“Pandemic and Digital Transformation” will be the focus of the next session of ECCB Digital Dialogues which resumes on 25 February. \nThe Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB)\, Timothy N. J. Antoine will moderate the session which will continue to explore how digitalisation has transformed the economies and societies of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union as a result of the COVID­-19 pandemic. \nThe panel will comprise: The Honourable Minister for Information and Communication Technology in the Government of Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis – Akilah Byron-Nisbett; Head of Regulatory Affairs\, Caribbean Cable and Wireless Communications – David A. Cox; and Technical Advisor\, Office of the Prime Minister of The Bahamas – Kristie Powell. \nThe ECCB is cognisant that the pandemic has exposed serious infrastructural gaps and inequitable access to connectivity and digital tools. The panel will discuss how these and other issues can be addressed to safeguard the region’s economic recovery\, resilience and transformation. \nThe ECCB Digital Dialogues will be broadcast live on the ECCB’s Facebook page and YouTube channel and on radio stations across the ECCU from 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to participate in this important conversation and to share their views on specific issues during the real-time survey segment. \n  \nClick here for more information on the ECCB Digital Dialogues. \nClick here to register to join the conversation.

DESCRIPTION:The Caribbean Mobile Innovation Project\, coordinated by the University of the West Indies (UWI)\, cordially invites you to the Caribbean Mobile Innovation Project’s (CMIP) “Global Tech Trends” Webinar on Thursday\, February 26\, 2015 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm EST. The speaker will be Mr. Soji Ojugbele\, Product Specialist with Android Wear at Google Inc. Soji has been involved with wearables for 2 years now\, starting with the launch of Google Glass. He now works on the Android Wear team at Google\, evangelizing the products\, providing useful demonstrations and supporting the platform. \nThe CMIP is an integral part of the Entrepreneurship Program for Innovation in the Caribbean (EPIC )\, a US $20M program funded by the Government of Canada and executed by infoDev/World Bank. The CMIP is thrilled to welcome Soji as this webinar falls in line with its mandate to strengthen the Caribbean mobile innovation ecosystem. \nAs stakeholders in this ecosystem\, we should all be keenly aware of tech trends representing intelligence on the edge\, to ensure we capacitate ourselves to allow innovation to flourish. Soji’s webinar will aid in keeping you at the forefront of today’s paradigm of innovative technology trends. \nA major aspect of strengthening the Caribbean mobile innovation ecosystem is ensuring all players have a pulse of the nature of activity taking place in the region. This will reduce the probability of duplication of efforts and will allow for the strengthening of connections between the members of the ecosystem\, fostering greater sustainability of the community. To this end\, the webinar is being staged to both share knowledge critical to those who are committed to remaining on the edge of innovation and bring together key players to foster the growth of the ecosystem.
