SUMMARY:Open Data - Opportunities for Antigua & Barbuda and the Caribbean
DESCRIPTION:Antigua & Barbuda has been selected as the pilot country for an Open Data Readiness Assessment (ODRA) which\, it is hoped\, will be adapted and replicated regionally. \nThe ODR study will consist of a series of interviews with key stakeholders\, including government officials and people outside government\, covering the main themes of leadership\, law\, government institutions\, management of data\, demand for data\, capabilities of business and civil society\, finance and national IT infrastructure. \nOn Tuesday 23rd April at 7: 00 p.m. there will also be a public forum on Open Data – Opportunities in Antigua & Barbuda and the Caribbean\, at the City View Hotel. The event will be facilitated by Mr. Andrew Stott\, a senior consultant with the World Bank and Dr. Maurice McNaughton\, Director\, Centre of Excellence\, Mona School of Business and one of the principals in the Caribbean Open Institute. Members of the public will have an opportunity to dialogue with the facilitators. \nBased on these interviews and desk review of laws and other documents the ODR study team will produce a report with recommendations to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. \n
