Many of us are dying for things to go back to normal \u2013 whatever that might be at this point \u2013 but at the same time, in trying to live (or survive) more digitally, our personal rights, and\/or the rights of others, might be at stake.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThis concept of rights is the bedrock of this month\u2019s Community Chat. Liselle was on two Community Chat episodes in 2019, where she led us through conversations on \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2Og5yoT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">What will it take to go digital in the Caribbean<\/a><\/em>?\u201d, and \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2OeO53E\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Can technology help or hurt local cultures?<\/a><\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\nOnce again, Liselle\u2019s topic is snatched from the headlines. In Trinidad and Tobago, and within the past month, lawyers representing textbook publishers were \u201cthreatening to sue the Ministry of Education, and even teachers, for reproducing school books during online learning and to distribute among learning packages to those without computers<\/em>\u201d (Source:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/guardian.co.tt\/news\/lawyers-warn-of-copyright-breaches-with-online-classes-6.2.1213064.5a8b0bac46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trinidad and Tobago Guardian<\/a>). Hence, the question Liselle submitted for discussion was, \u00a0Online education and copyright law in the Caribbean. Are we making the grade?, <\/em><\/strong>cognisant that the\u00a0novel coronavirus pandemic has forced Caribbean schools to pivot quickly to distance learning. He is also the Immediate Past-President of the ICT Association of Saint Lucia. We had Lyndell on the Podcast in December 2019, as we explored the <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2LjyyvK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ICT and technology space of Saint Lucia<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nFor his part, Lyndell is concerned that we do not fully appreciate the implications and ramifications of what we share online. As consumers, are we clicking the \u201cshare\u201d button just because it is presented to us, not appreciating that seemingly innocuous posts can provide a deeper and more intimate portrait of over personal lives? Hence, Lyndell\u2019s topic was Too much information! Raising citizens\u2019 awareness of the need for data sharing limits, <\/em><\/strong>as we may need to more carefully consider (among other things): why we share what we are sharing online; the potential for harmful effects;
