Based on the findings of the study, the organisation will consider interventions and support it can offer to individual countries, and\/or to the region as a whole, to promote the adoption and use of FOSS, OD and OS, \u00a0in alignment with its Information for All Programme (IFAP).<\/p>\n<p>The findings of the study, which have been drawn from desk research, an online survey, and in-market meetings in select countries, will be summarized in a report that should be reviewed by stakeholders. In addition to disseminating the report electronically, UNESCO will be hosting two 2-day sessions, 18\u201419 July in Jamaica, and 25\u201426 July in Saint Lucia, to allow in-depth examination of the study findings, and to secure support for proposed follow-op activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UNESCO has commissioned a study on the status of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), Open Data (OS) and Open Standards (OS) in the Caribbean.
