In recognition of the critical requirement to promote innovation in Caribbean societies, the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank working along with the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) and other stakeholders within the Caribbean region have designed the Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (CARCIP) to support, inter alia, a regional approach towards ICT innovation. Under the auspices of CARCIP, the CTU will be convening the first round of capacity building and ICT innovation Workshops from 10thFebruary to 25th March 2014, to deliver a series of ICT-Led Innovation programmes in the CARCIP participating countries of Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and St. Lucia.
Objectives
The objective of the ICT-Led Innovation Workshops is to sensitise civil society, private and public sector leaders on practical ways ICTs can be used to promote and foster innovation to benefit the everyday life of Caribbean people.
